La Collection noire joins sovereign collective

Photo
La Collection Noire, homepage Sovereign Collective
The Collection Noire, concept store dedicated to antique jewelry and vintage jewelry in Paris, is partnering with Sovereign Collective  to offer all of its collections online.

Founded by Molly Hansen and Kelly Rutherford, Sovereign Collective offers to buy the best of the creation of many cities around the world and quickly deliver customers' favorites.  By integrating this new platform, La Collection Noire supports its desire to share its passion with as many people as possible and erases borders.

The creations of  French craftsmen from decades past will be accessible to jewelry lovers all around the globe!

True support for creators and entrepreneurs from all walks of life, Sovereign Collective is part of an ethical approach and more than a commercial site is a space for sharing stories, objects and links; values to which La Collection Noire fully adheres.

Offering everyone access to emblematic pieces of French and European jewelry is a source of pride for La Collection Noire. Indeed, unlike contemporary creations, vintage jewelry, such as art deco rings, gold bracelets of the twentieth century or necklaces of ancient pearls are often confined to their country of origin and rarely benefit from international exposure, a gap that must be filled.

Already present on Instagram in order to broaden its audience, La Collection Noire has taken the initiative to join the Sovereign Collective adventure to take its commitments further: safeguarding memory, certified vintage jewelry, sharing passions, shopping and responsible and sustainable consumption.

Buy antique jewelry, whether used rings, signed or unsigned jewelry, earrings created by anonymous craftsmen; is a way to perpetuate know-how but above all to prolong the life of precious objects and therefore reduce its impact on the environment.
Wearing antique jewelry is a way to express your style and be fashionable without causing overproduction or waste; an action that deserves to be international!

Browse La Collection Noire's collections of vintage engagement rings, antique earrings, set rings, art deco bracelets, and necklaces or pendants on Sovereign Collective and enjoy secure, international delivery, guaranteed jewelry, and optimized payment options.

LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE LA COLLECTION NOIRE - ALEXANDRE BLANC

Alexandre Blanc
Alexandre Blanc (@alexandreblancparis) is an artist, fashion designer and above all, a friend.
After collaborating with some of the most influential designers of its time, from Nicolas Ghesquière to Guillaume Henry, and putting his talents with the biggest international fashion houses, he founded his eponymous brand in 2018 and integrated the official @parisfashionweek calendar.
His creations have been worn by @leïlabekhti, @naomi, @lagrande_dame and @helenachristensen …
Passionate about interior design, cinema and art, his multiple influences are mixed in his clothes, designed to live and to reveal the unique beauty of each woman.
Driven by the idea that a Couture house should encompass a universe, he also collaborates with the parurier @Goossens_paris, from Chanel Métiers d’Art, to create opulent fashion jewelry.
In the midst of preparing his Spring-Summer 2022 collection, rich in new volumes and prints that he once again designed himself, Alexandre Blanc played the portrait game and shared some precious anecdotes with us.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
AB: For me, jewelry is a talisman, an object that I choose to wear and that will accompany me throughout my day and will give me a certain assurance

LCN: A vivid memory with a piece of jewelry?
AB: A bracelet that my sister gave me for my first communion. One day I lost it, it made me really sad. Recently I gave her the same faceted chain, I like the idea that we have the same jewel.

les rendez-vous de la collection noire - ana carolina reis

Ana Carolina Reis (@anacarolinareis5) was born in Brazil and has been living in Paris for 18 years.
Painter and model, her career allowed her to meet with the big names in Fashion, Architecture and Art, in general.
From those encounters made alongside Mister Azzedine Alaïa, and personalities who surrounded him, such as Christophe Von Weyne, Julien Schnabel or Diana Picasso, she drew her inspirations and nourished her art, infused with Basquiat and Miro vibes.

Ana Carolina wears the “Jean” and “Torre” rings from the La Collection Noire catalog as well as a pair of diamonds and pearl ear clips, worn as brooches, she lent herself to the game of portraiture and shares with us some precious anecdotes.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
ACR: A piece of jewelry, for me, symbolizes an important moment in a person's life. For example, in Brazil, to celebrate a young girl's 15th birthday, parents organize a party and give her a piece of jewelry to mark the moment. A piece of jewelry can also be a gift to yourself, to treat yourself and reward yourself, which is perhaps the most important thing.

LCN: A vivid memory with a piece of jewelry?
ACR: My most vivid memory is also the dearest to my heart. This is the one of my first diamond, the one of the ring that my parents gave me for my 15th birthday. They worked a lot to be able to offer me this jewel and I still have it. Over time it has become too small for me, so I will resize the band to continue wearing it.

Les rendez-vous de la collection noire - violaine d'astorg

Les Rendez-vous de La Collection Noire with Violaine d’Astorg (@lifeofjewellery_christies).

Violaine d’Astorg is the Director of the Jewelry Department of the Christie’s auction house in Paris (@christiesparis)
It is also the proof that one can, by dint of hard work and rigor, integrate the world of jewelry without coming from a line of professionals of the sector.
It was by appraising a brooch from her family personal collection that this recognized expert discovered a passion for Jewelry and decided to study in Antwerp to access the path we know her today.
Making her youth an asset, she brilliantly accompanies the digital transformation of a still shy market and has just, for example, signed a world record for the online sale of a necklace by Jean Fouquet adorned with an aquamarine, sold for over $ 1 million.

Violaine d´Astorg wears the "Bowtie" ring from the La Collection Noire catalog; she played the portrait game with La Collection Noire and shares some precious anecdotes with us.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
VdA: (A piece of jewelry represents) The story of its time and that of its owner. A witness to the past, loaded with many intentions to pass on in the future.

LCN: A vivid memory with a piece of jewelry?
VdA: An intense emotion at the opening of a family setting with my grandfather. I wish this on all jewelry lovers. We find it from time to time when appraising a piece of jewelry, which is why I love my job.

La Collection Noire has the immense pleasure to be able to meet daily people with unique personalities and varied universes. It is with this in mind that we received the journalist and above all the jewelry enthusiast, Marie-Caroline Selmer, to share our stories in a moment of conviviality.

The meeting takes place in the heart of Paris, 8th arrondissement, one afternoon, in the showroom of La Collection Noire. A space dedicated to friends, customers and lovers of Art, music, design and of course, passionate about antique jewelry.

The fruit of this meeting? an article that translates La Collection Noire, a concept store dedicated to antique and vintage jewelry, with elegance and sincerity, but above all a human encounter marked by laughter, shared stories and benevolence that will forever be engraved in our memories.

We share with you, below, an excerpt from the article that appeared in the unmissable magazine and online luxury store, The Eye of jewelry, founded by Eleonor Picciotto, which always travels the world in search of novelties and everything that revolves around jewelry.

Discover the full article (in french) by clicking here.

Launched by two friends, Etienne and Pither, the Black Collection unveils a selection of antique, vintage and Art Deco style jewelry of the most desirable. Meeting with two passionate about history pieces. The Black Collection was born in 2019 from a shared passion, that of Etienne and Pither for ancient jewelry. The concept? Offer a selection of vintage pieces designed as collections. Hence the name, to which they associated the color black, for the timeless side. If the first sales came from their address book, very quickly, word of mouth was put in place. Instagram, the social network where the two founders are very active, has proven to be a great recruiting ground. "We post our jewelry certainly, but also a content that we want to inspire, whether on the history of stones or on the journey of women that we want to highlight" explains Etienne. Coming from the world of communication, Etienne made his classes in fashion before a visit to the Vendôme Committee, the organization that federates the great jewelers and goldsmiths of the famous square and its adjacent streets. Pither, meanwhile, worked for more than 15 years in fashion, in houses such as D&G, Alexander Wang, before joining the teams of Mr. Alaïa, "a man for whom I have great respect", says Pither. With a mother who is a great lover of jewelry, Etienne has developed a keen eye on the subject, and an acquaintance that he enthusiastically shares with Peter. On the style side, the two men admit a penchant for Art Deco style pieces, and more broadly, retro jewelry. "I have a passion for the large volumes of that time, which flirt with excesses while being of absolute chic," says Etienne.

les rendez-vous de la collection noire - mari lakspere

Les Rendez-vous de La Collection Noire with Mari Lakspere.

Mari Lakspere is an Estonian-born entrepreneur who has made France her home.
After her great experience in luxury, in particular for the house of Alaïa, Mari founded her company Cils de Marie (@cilsdemarie), an innovative concept of eyelash extensions that quickly became an essential address for Parisians. She also founded Öko Face Fitness (@oko_facefitness), a revolutionary anti-aging method that perfectly combines different facial exercises and relaxation techniques.
Always on the move and looking for new ideas, in July, she still found the time to spend some time with La Collection Noire.

Mari Lakspere wears the "Oscar" ring from the La Collection Noire catalog, she has played the portrait game and shares some precious anecdotes with us.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
ML: For me, it really is a reflection of our soul in a deep sense, a very intimate object that characterizes us the best - It reflects our state and our mood at a moment; even if we don't want to reveal ourselves, our jewelry will show it to a connoisseur (the choice of style - armor or embellishment, size and stones say a lot about its owner).

LCN: A vivid memory with a piece of jewelry?
ML: My mother’s gifts, 2 pendants bought during 2 trips to Sri Lanka with a lot of love ❤️. We are both big fans of beautiful stones and we love to surround ourselves with their influence and support.
I always wear my big, bright yellow citrine on a meeting when I want to feel energetic, happy and to share her 'sunny' side.
Conversely, I put my garnet on for deeper discussions, such as matters of the heart or things that are close to my heart.
This stone guides me.
These jewels are a part of me and we always have a good time together. 💫

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
HLK: Jewelry is a symbolic way to express who you are. This is often the first thing that people notice or attract attention. Personally, I am attracted to the strong pieces that brilliantly mix the brilliance of the colors of the precious stones with the discreet elegance of gold. It's a reflection of my tastes and style.

LCN: A memorable memory with a jewel?
HLK: Jewelry must always awaken feelings or memories of moments and places. This is precisely what I like about my own collection. I would always remember a trip to Florence where I found at an antique dealer's house a superb ring from the 60s, decorated with a pink tourmaline surrounded by emeralds. Every time I wear this piece, I'm like transported there and I remember the delicious moments we experienced there.

men and jewelry

Gender fluid or Forgotten History?
For thousands of years, both men and women have been wearing adornment jewelry.
From the Egyptians, to the ancient Greeks and in all cultures, human beings have always adorned themselves with jewels.
Today, there is a taboo around the male jewel. Notably linked to the concept of gold virility, this pageantry dates back to the first chiefs of the Neolithic where the jewels worn by a man were symbols of strength, then in the Middle Ages, the jewels were worn by the nobility.
From JP Morgan to King Solomon via the maharadjas or Louis XIII, the history of jewelry worn by men is not a new affair. Today, thanks to artists like Nicolas Maury, or Pharrell Williams, houses like @boucheron, @cartier or @tiffanyandco jewelry worn by men is a trend, as we saw at the Cannes Film Festival or everywhere in the streets.

Les Rendez-vous de la collection noire - kareen guiock

Les Rendez-vous de La Collection Noire with Kareen Guiock.
Kareen Guiock, a key figure in the PAF, has been hosting 12:45 on M6 for almost 10 years.
Passionate about music, she is also an author, composer and performer, but above all she is a whole and committed woman. Godmother of the  Amazones association that accompanies women with breast cancer, an association to which 15% of the profits from the sale of the "Mozaïques" ancient earrings will be donated, Kareen is a woman with a rich career, a solar smile and countless talents. It is with pleasure that La Collection Noire received it and shares with you some precious anecdotes.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
KG: A jewel is an emotion and always a memory. We remember the person who offered it to us and the immense joy felt when we discovered it. It is also sometimes a dream that we want to offer ourselves. It then nourishes a new motivation and leads us to surpass ourselves to achieve it. A jewel may seem futile, but make no mistake, it necessarily tells a story.

LCN: A memorable memory with a jewel?
KG: A ring donated by a childhood friend. We were teenagers. He had handed it to me with great solemnity and pride: "he is a loner". I wore it for a very long time. And when I knew that obviously it wasn't a diamond, its value to me didn't change. It was a gift from the heart. So it was forever precious. I still have it. That pretty much sums up my view of jewelry. They talk about love, friendship, tenderness, they make these bonds
eternal.

La Collection Noire pour christie's paris

La Collection Noire acted as an advisor to the famous auction house Christie's Paris for the organization of a shoot highlighting the Top Lot of the last jewelry sale of July 2021.
This lot, a necklace designed by Jean Fouquet and made in 1925 presents an impressive aquamarine of 90ct, a frame in gray gold, silver, yellow gold and black lacquer.
To highlight this legendary necklace, it served as the cover for Sylvie Raulet's book, La Collection Noire chose an haute couture dress by couturier Stéphane Rolland.
The end result plays on architecture, volumes, shapes, balance and textures. The series of photographs, a true quintessence of French know-how, is a tribute to the work of the hand, the goldsmiths or the small hands of the workshops.
The necklace finally reached the price of €980,000 at the end of a week of auctions, for an estimate of €350,000/450,000.

Beyond the creator and the visionary, Stephane Rolland is an aesthete and a whole man who does not give up anything to achieve excellence. It is with pleasure that La Collection Noire received it, in full preparation of its Haute Couture fashion show and share with you some precious anecdotes.

LCN: What does a piece of jewelry mean to you?
SR: The contact between skin, stone and gold causes a chemical reaction of a very particular sensuality. Each stone has its signature, its identity. History is created between the jewel and ourselves, an imprint of life, a witness of the strongest moments.

LCN: A memorable memory with a jewel?
SR: A memory?! I have so many.. one night, in a palace, I am invited to advise the mistress of the place on the choice of an adornment. The doors open, the floor was then lined with open boxes and we could no longer distinguish marble or carpets ... the entire surface sparkled with emeralds, diamonds, and so many other gems. It was unreal!
